  • Social Programme

Food and drinks will be served at the patio of the central administration building of the University of Girona (“Les Àligues”).
During the reception a “castells” exhibition will take place. The "castells" (human castles) are a very popular and spectacular event,
typical of Catalan culture, in which human towers rise up and seem to touch the sky. They represent solidarity and team spirit among Catalan people.

You will discover the most famous corners of the old quarter of Girona. As you walk through the stone streets of Girona, learn what other mythological characters have been feeding the legends of the city and why animals such as flies are so appreciated here.

Though the way to the restaurant we will stop at the town of Calella de Palafrugell on the Costa Brava, where there will be time to explore on your own.
The conference dinner will be held in the “Far de St. Sebastià”, which enjoys a privileged location in one of the most relevant lighthouses of the Mediterranean mainland: the lighthouse of San Sebastià.
